Winter Wonderland & Celebration Station at Burke Lake Park (Nov. 30 - Dec. 8)
Winter Wonderland returns to Burke Lake Park! Join us during the day on Saturdays and Sundays for train and carousel rides, visits with Santa, Gingerbread Man’s Mini-Golf, hot cocoa and more. Join us in the evenings for our new Celebration Station! Enjoy a train ride through a forest of twinkling lights, a spin on the carousel, and warm up with a cup of hot cocoa before you leave.
Make gift-giving easy and support local artisans! Shop for top-quality handmade arts and crafts offered by nearly 100 of the area’s finest artisans. Don’t miss the 41st Annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Show at Audrey Moore RECenter. It’s Northern Virginia’s longest-running arts and crafts show.
Christmas Events at the Farm (Weekends in December)
On December 1, children can shop for holiday gifts at Frying Pan Farm Park. A secret shopper will help them with purchases and wrapping. Then on December 2 & 9, celebrate the holidays with Christmas at the Farm. Enjoy Santa driving your wagon ride, cookie decorating, games, a craft, letters to Santa and more. On December 9 & 23, be sure to join us for horse-drawn wagon rides around the park (weather permitting)!
Gardeners’ Holiday Open House at Green Spring Gardens (Dec. 2)
Treat yourself to a day of holiday fun in the gardens featuring decorations and seasonal displays, live music, holiday breads, ornaments for sale and free refreshments. This festive day is for gardeners of all ages. Bring the children to a holiday puppet show at 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. ($5/person for the puppet show; advance registration recommended)
Enjoy a wagon ride through a magical winter light show as the campground at Lake Fairfax Park undergoes a dramatic holiday makeover. Visitors of all ages can enjoy a festive holiday light display before warming up with hot chocolate and s’mores at a fire pit.
Celebrate the holidays in the home of Northern Virginia’s first representative to Congress! Enjoy hot cider, special cookies, and seasonal music. Craft an ornament to take home, and experience other engaging pursuits that bring the past to life in the gracefully decorated 1794 Lee home.

Sometimes the weather turns frightful. When Fairfax County Public Schools extend closings and parents need to work, Snow Day Camps provide one-day recreation programs for school-age children at select RECenters. Our full inclement weather closure and cancellation policy is available online.
